At the foot of Ben Rinnes, above Aberlour, GlenAllachie was built in 1967 to a design by William Delmé-Evans and spent fifty years making spirit for blends. In 2017 Billy Walker and two partners bought it from Chivas, cut production to a fraction of its capacity and stretched fermentations to 160 hours, coaxing out an ever fruitier spirit. Lantern-shaped wash stills, deep cask stocks. Independently owned.
