About Tomatin

High on the moor south of Inverness, where drovers are said to have bought whisky from a local still as early as the sixteenth century, Tomatin was founded in 1897 and by the 1970s had grown into Scotland's largest malt distillery. Most of its spirit still goes into blends, though the soft, sweet, fruity single malt is ever easier to find. Japanese-owned since 1986. Takara Shuzo's.
