About Knockdhu (AnCnoc)

Beneath Knock Hill in Banffshire, Knockdhu was built in 1893 of local grey granite, the first malt distillery commissioned by the Distillers Company, on springs found on the hill's southern slope beside a railway halt. To avoid confusion with Knockando, its whisky has gone by anCnoc, Gaelic for 'the hill', since 1994. The spirit is crisp, honeyed and delicately fruity. Inver House's.
