In Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Brad Estabrooke, a bond trader laid off in 2008, built Breuckelen Distilling in a former boiler room, taking the borough's old Dutch spelling for its name. Its gin, first sold in 2010, was Brooklyn's first since Prohibition, and its whiskeys followed, made grain to glass on site from New York grain. Robust and full-flavoured. Independently owned.
