On the Ardnamurchan peninsula, among the remotest corners of the British mainland, the independent bottler Adelphi built its own distillery in 2014. It runs on hydro power and a biomass boiler fed with timber from the local forest, which also heats its own floor maltings. It makes two West Highland styles side by side, peated and unpeated, both with a salt-and-heather coastal edge. Adelphi's.
