In Hillington, on the south-western edge of the city, the Glasgow Distillery began production on 20 March 2015, the first active distillery in greater Glasgow since 1902. Its stills are named after Frances and Margaret MacDonald, two of the Glasgow Girls of the art world, and its core malt, 1770, salutes the city's first distillery at Dundashill. Loch Katrine water, a Lowland style. Independently owned.
