About Macallan
Above the Spey at Easter Elchies, in a manor house that predates it by a century, Macallan has made whisky since 1824 and turned sherried Speyside into both an art and an obsession. Raised in the finest Spanish oloroso oak, its spirit runs deep with dried fruit, spice and old polished wood, and its rarest bottles change hands for the price of cars. In 2018 it eased a spectacular wave-roofed distillery into the hillside, as though the ground itself had risen. Edrington's crown jewel.
