About Clynelish

Near Brora, on the Sutherland coast, Clynelish works beside its own ghost. The original distillery of 1819 stands next to the modern one built in 1967; revived as Brora to make peated spirit for Johnnie Walker, it became a legend after closing in 1983. Clynelish itself is prized for a singular waxy, honeyed, coastal texture, and nearly all of it still goes into Johnnie Walker. Diageo's.
