At Blackford, beneath the Ochil Hills, Tullibardine has drawn on the Danny Burn since 1949. Mothballed in 1995, it was woken in 2003 by new private owners, and in 2011 passed to Picard, a Burgundian wine house, which shows in its fondness for finishing whisky in wine casks, from Sauternes to Banyuls. The house spirit is soft, sweet and fruity, and takes to a wine cask like a native. French-owned since 2011.
