About Balblair
Near Edderton, on the Dornoch Firth, Balblair was founded by John Ross in 1790 and is among the oldest working distilleries in Scotland. When it was rebuilt beside the new railway in 1894, its makers kept faith with the Allt Dearg burn, the water they had always used. Its ledger opens in 1800 with a gallon sold for £1 8s. The spirit is bright, fruity and spicy. Inver House's.
