About Tomintoul

In the glen of the Avon at Kirkmichael, near the village of Tomintoul, Tomintoul was built in 1964 by two Glasgow whisky brokers and began bottling its own malt a decade later. Water from the Ballantruan spring makes a famously gentle spirit, light, fragrant and fruity, though a peated version runs too. In 2009 it filled the world's largest bottle of whisky, 105.3 litres. Angus Dundee's.
