Médéric Tiffon founded his house in Jarnac in 1875, just before phylloxera struck. In 1913 his granddaughter Edith married Sverre Braastad, a Norwegian salesman from a rival house, who took over the business in 1919 and in 1946 bought the Château de Triac. His descendants still run it, distilling in Jarnac and Triac. Braastad family's.
