Beneath Dumbarton Rock, Hiram Walker built this grain distillery in 1938, two years after buying Ballantine's, to supply the blend; in its heyday it was the largest grain distillery in Europe. Its towering column stills rose up through the concrete floors, which in the end made it impossible to modernise. Mothballed in 2002, its work passed to Strathclyde. Lost.
