About Cambus

Beside the Forth near Alloa, Cambus began as a malt distillery in a converted mill in 1806 and turned to grain in 1836, an early adopter of continuous stills. A founder member of the Distillers Company in 1877, it was gutted by fire before the First World War and rebuilt in 1938. Production ended in 1993; a Diageo cooperage now stands there. Lost.
