About Talisker
On the wild west coast of Skye, at Carbost by the dark waters of Loch Harport, Talisker has stood since 1830, for generations the island's only distillery. It tastes of its address, brine and sea-spray, a curl of smoke, and a famous pepper-blast that catches the back of the throat like spray over the bow. Whisky made by the sea, and unmistakably so. A jewel of Diageo's Classic Malts.
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottles single casks under numeric codes rather than distillery names, so a label reading 14.403 means cask 403 from distillery 14. That distillery is Talisker, in Islands. More on Talisker at Wikipedia.
